Vanessa VerLee: Music

I just wanted to write about the recent concert event we featured at the Rhum Academy.

Vanessa Verlee journeyed to our midwestern music haven from the shores of sunny Californina last Saturday night. With her she brought a large bag of wit, intelligence, compassion, social insight, attitude & a whole lot of talent.

It was one of the most enjoyable experiences that I have witnessed in a long time. Ranks right up there with my marriage, births of my children and pure, unadultrated, no holes barred (no pun intended) sex.

Vanessa has a very unique song-writing flavor and delivers with such style, determination and demeanor that she makes you feel like she has been your best and most trusted friend for ever and ever. One tends to hang on every word that springs from her mouth in fear that you are going to miss something very moving and monumental.

Vanessa's brother Sean opened the show, a major talent in his own right, and during the evening, Vanessa's Mom, Sean & herself were onstage making music that still sends goosebumps running up and down my spine!

Thank you Vanessa and family for spending time with us at the Academy. Your talents are extraordinary. Please come back when your journeys guide you back to us. You always have a home at the Academy.
