places where vanessa plays her music

The Hotel Utah Saloon
Vanessa loves playing on this historic and beautiful stage. Located in SOMA, SF
Mojito
This North Beach dive has become one of Vanessa's favorite places to play music - especially on a Tuesday night, when they serve cheap beer and tacos.
Milk Bar
Vanessa can actually walk to this gig - located in the Upper Haight, they usually go the DJ route - but on a rare night you can catch some good acoustic acts - and the sound in their back music room is top notch.
Simple Pleasures Cafe
This Outer Richmond cafe was the first San Francisco venue to host Vanessa's music, back in 2000. She also, at different points, worked behind the bar, booked music and ran their open mic. It was this open mic where she, in fact, found her husband, Jeremy Rourke.
Cafe Du Nord
Jeremy & Vanessa had the pleasure of playing here in October, 2010. Check out some of Marianna Lopez's video from that show: http://vimeo.com/user780405/videos
The Make Out Room
A darkly lit, swanky joint - perfect for you know, making out - or hearing Vanessa's music - or both.
The Bazaar Cafe
A great acoustic music venue tucked away in the Outer Richmond. "I Don't Know if You Know" has two live tracks recorded here!

places where vanessa teaches

Jewish Community Center of San Francisco
Fiind out info about this center where Vanessa teaches several classes each week.

vanessa's talented friends.. some of them

the website of animation and music by jeremy rourke
even if she weren't married to this man, vanessa would gladly share the stage with the powerhouse of talent that is jeremy rourke. not only are his songs beautifully crafted and performed - but his stop motion animated videos that go along to his songs (and that have been receiving critical acclaim as of late) are a constant source of inspiration.
the website for the player of beautiful pretend music, michael musika
he's got more images in one of his songs than most museums have in all of their halls.
the website for making dinner (the band, not the act)
six women... three of the mamas... all of them full of crazy enthusiasm.... they put on the most fun show in town.
the website for the hauntingly beautiful ms. jolie holland
if you haven't heard of her yet, i'm surprised.
the website for the maker of the songs that never leave my head, in a nice way, sean hayes
.. and they won't leave yours either..
the website for my favorite person to share a night at bazaar cafe with, robin galante
you may never suspect, by looking at her slight frame, that such a beautiful fierceness would arise from her vocal chords.

etc.

the magical and transformative work of dr. stephanie bridwell
vanessa began receiving care from dr. stephanie in early 2010 and immediately felt amazing life transformation. she's been referring friends, clients and strangers to dr. stephanie ever since. the work, NSA, is based on the revolutionary work of dr. donald epstein (www.wiseworldseminars.com), who vanessa has also had the honor of working with.
everything cool happening in SF, brought to you by jessie woletz
just in case you wanted to know where the coolest show in town was happening, seaweed sway, the master work of jessie woletz, will guide you there.
ayurvedic consultant and yogini eleni gekas
now based in barcelona, but available for consultations online, eleni gekas is a deep ocean of wellness.
santosh puri ashram
The website for the beautiful place of rest started by and dedicated to Babaji Santosh Puri. Located between the holy cities of Hardiwar and Rishikesh, It is the ashram that Vanessa stayed at while visiting India in Feb. 2006.
website of graphic designer/magician, tom klump
Tom Klump, a bay area designer, designed Vanessa's last two CDs... who else could make upside down tree roots seem to beautifully reach towards heaven?
